Solana overview
Solana is a high-performance chain that combines proof of history and proof of stake to process thousands of transactions per second. Its low fees support a thriving DeFi, NFT and payments ecosystem, and SOL holders can earn rewards through delegation.
A network built for speed
Solana focuses on processing many transactions at a low fee. It combines proof of stake with Proof of History, a clock that helps validators agree quickly on which transaction came first.
That speed supports active decentralized trading, payments and consumer apps. The same design has also seen network outages, so high throughput and uninterrupted uptime are different claims.
How delegation works
On Solana you can delegate SOL to a validator and receive a share of that validator's staking rewards. Delegation does not hand over your secret key. Undelegating still takes a protocol waiting period.
폴리젠 handles validator choice and term tracking. You pick an amount and a lock, then request withdrawal after the lock ends. Rewards accrue in SOL at the rate shown when you applied.
The price swings are large
Fast-growing networks often move more in price. SOL's reward rate is on the high side of the five assets, and that rate does not cancel a price decline.
Splitting a balance across 30, 90 and 365 days brings some of it back sooner than locking everything for the longest term.
- Send only to a Solana mainnet address.
- Wrapped SOL on another chain, or an internal exchange transfer, is not an on-chain deposit.
- Solana addresses are case-sensitive. One wrong character is a different address.
Separate the coin count from fiat value
Staking increases the number of SOL. Reading that as a larger fiat balance will not match the result when the price falls. Write the coin increase and the price move on separate lines.
